What is the CEAS Mobile ID App?

CEAS Mobile ID is a smartphone application used to distribute CEAS Virtual Credentials via invitation from the Corporate Coordinator to an assigned essential employee.  The end user downloads the application to their Android or iOS smartphone to register and display their Virtual CEAS credentials.  CEAS Mobile ID eliminates the need to physically distribute CEAS credentials to end users and allows for rapid distribution during an event.

On What Platforms Are the CEAS Mobile ID App Available?

CEAS Mobile ID is available in the Apple App Store for iOS phones and Google Play for Android

When Can I Use the CEAS Mobile ID App to Issue Virtual Credentials?

The CEAS Mobile ID app is now available to issue Virtual credentials.  Virtual Credentials are issued in the same way as before, except that your end user will receive an invitation to download the Mobile ID App, complete a brief registration, and upload a headshot image using their smartphone camera (if one doesn’t previously exist in CEAS).

Can I Still Get Virtual Credentials Sent as an Email Attachment?

No.  Contact CEAS Support for alternatives.

Can I Assign a Virtual Credential Without a Headshot Image?

Yes. Using the CEAS Mobile ID App, you can assign a Virtual Credential, and if needed, the receiver can provide a headshot image via a Mobile App/Smartphone interface.  New assignees (not previously in the system) must still acknowledge the Program Orientation) before an invitation can be sent.

How to use CEAS Mobile ID – For Coordinators

Sending CEAS Virtual Credentials via the Mobile App is the same as before.  The Card Management interface is the same; the only difference is that headshot images, once required from the Coordinator, can now be provided by the Mobile App registrant using their smartphone.

How to Use the CEAS Mobile ID App.

All Virtual Credentials will now be issued via invitation through the CEAS Mobil ID App. If you are an existing program Participant and want to either convert from plastic ID cards, assign new Virtual Credentials, or re-issue your existing Virtual Credentials using the CEAS Mobile ID app, please follow the steps below:

To Convert From CEAS Standard (plastic) Cards to Virtual Credentials.

  1. Please refer to "How do I assign Virtual Credentials to active CEAS Standard (plastic) Cardholders?"

To Assign a New Virtual Credential (to a first-time CEAS user)

  1. Log into your CEAS account
  2. Click the Assign New Cardholders button from the Card Management Screen.
  3. From Select Credential Type, choose the Virtual Credential Then click Next.
  4. Complete the required information for any new candidate from the "Add Cardholders Individually" tab. Click Next.

Note: If you want to add numerous new Credential Holders at once, you can use the Bulk Upload tool by selecting the "Bulk Add from Text or Excel" tab

  1. Review the information for accuracy, then click Submit. If you have an image of the individual, you can click the Upload Images link on the Assignment Results screen to upload it. Having an image is unnecessary if you are sending a CEAS Mobile app invitation.
  2. After completing the information, click Next. The new assignee will receive an email link to the CEAS Program Orientation that must be acknowledged before you can send their CEAS Mobile app invitation.

NOTE: If the candidate is currently in the system and has previously acknowledged the Orientation, they do not need to do it again.

  1. Once/If the Orientation has been acknowledged and accepted by the candidate, a checkbox will appear next to the candidate's name on the Card Management screen, along with a green checkmark under the "Training" column.
  2. Select the checkboxes (next to the candidates' names) for your Virtual Credential candidates and click
  3. The final step is to set the expiration date of the selected credentials and send the invitation. Select an expiration date for the employees you selected and click Send. This will send a Mobile ID App invitation to each end-user selected in the previous step with instructions for registering the app and viewing their credentials.

NOTE:  the default expiration date is preset to 365 days or the number of days until your subscription renewal date, whichever is shortest.  Coordinators may set an earlier expiration or “expire” a credential by choosing one of the alternate expiration intervals presented.  For more Guidance on setting expiration dates (see Setting Virtual Credential Expiration Date).

 

Re-Issue a Previously Sent Virtual Credential Using the CEAS Mobile App.

With rare exceptions, BNET will no longer issue Virtual Credentials as email attachments, only via the Mobile App.

  1. Log into your CEAS account; your screen will default to the Virtual Credentials tab.
  2. Checkboxes should appear on the left of each eligible Cardholder.
  3. Select your credential holders by checking the checkboxes next to the name(s) of those to whom you wish to re-issue virtual credentials.
  4. Select a new expiration date.IMPORTANT: Setting the expiration date for multiple credential holders at once will cause all selected credential holders to expire on the selected date. If you want credentials to expire for a shorter interval, set them individually or in groups according to the expiration date.
  5. Click "Send". Your credential holders will receive an invitation email instructing them to download the CEAS Mobile ID and complete a short registration process (they only have to install and register the CEAS Mobile ID once).
  6. Virtual credential holders can present their credentials using CEAS Mobile ID anytime after registration is complete by opening the App and entering only their password.

IMPORTANT: ONLY ONE CREDENTIAL CAN BE HELD AT A TIME.  ASSIGNING A VIRTUAL CREDENTIAL TO AN INDIVIDUAL WHO ALREADY HAS A PHYSICAL (PLASTIC) CREDENTIAL WILL CAUSE THE PHYSICAL CREDENTIAL TO BE DEACTIVATED FROM THE SYSTEM.

How to use CEAS Mobile ID - For Credential Holders

Register Your App.

  1. After downloading the app, click the CEAS Mobile ID icon and enter your information exactly as shown in your invitation (including all dashes). You will be asked to create a password to remember to access your credentials later. Click Save.
  2. After completing the registration, you will be brought to a “Success” screen; click Next to Update Portrait.

Updating Your Portrait and Viewing Your Credential.

  1. Click Update Portrait. If a headshot image has been previously uploaded, you may choose to Keep or Change it. If an image has not been previously uploaded, you will not have the option to keep the image.
  2. Click Change to either upload an image from your library or take a “selfie” with your camera*. Save your image and click Next to return to the “Success” screen. *Uploaded or “selfie” images must be an image of the credential holder from the top of the head to the top of the shoulders (passport-type image).
  3. From the Success page, click Next, then Main Menu > Display Credentials to view your credentials.

Viewing Your Mobile ID After Closing the App.

  1. After closing the App, to re-display your CEAS Virtual ID on your smartphone, click the CEAS Mobile ID icon, enter your password, and click “sign-in.”
